Status Quo and Influencing Factors of Delayed Diagnosis of Pulmonary Tuberculosis Patients in Luoyang City from 2021 to 2022

Abstract:Objective To explore the status quo and influencing factors of delayed diagnosis of tuberculosis patients in Luoyang City from 2021 to 2022,and to provide evidence for early prevention and treatment of tuberculosis.Methods The basic data of 2 254 effective tuberculosis patients diagnosed in Luoyang from 2021 to 2022 were extracted from the tuberculosis information management system to describe the status quo of patients with delayed treatment.The age,gender,nationality,place of residence,type of first diagnosis unit,household registration type,main income source of the family,suffering from other chronic diseases,diagnosis method,and type of patients of tuberculosis research patients in Luoyang City from 2021 to 2022 were analyzed.Multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to explore the influencing factors of diagnosis delay.Results From 2021 to 2022,the total number of tuberculosis cases in Luoyang City was 2 254,559 patients were delayed in seeing a doctor,with a delay rate of 24.80%and a median time of 11(3,34)days;638 patients were diagnosed with a delay rate of 28.31%and a median time of diagnosis of 13(3,39)days.The results of univariate analysis showed that there was no statistical significance in ethnic group,main family income source,suffering from other chronic diseases,and patient type(P>0.05).Age,gender,place of residence,type of first diagnosis unit,type of household registration and diagnosis method were the influential factors for delayed diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis patients in Luoyang(P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that age ≥65 years old,residence in rural areas,household registration type of floating population were risk factors for delayed diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis cases in Luoyang from 2021 to 2022,and molecular biology was a protective factor for delayed diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis cas es in Luoyang from 2021 to 2022(P<0.05).Conclusion In Luoyang City from 2021 to 2022,delayed treatment and delayed diagnosis of tuberculosis patients are common.Age ≥65 years old,rural residence,and floating population are the risk factors leading to delayed diagnosis.Molecular biology is the protective factor for delayed diagnosis,and measures should be taken according to the influencing factors to further reduce the delayed diagnosis rate.
