Current Status of Medication Adherence at Home and Its Influencing Factors in Elderly Patients with Chronic Heart Failure

Abstract：Objective To investigate the status quo of medication compliance in elderly patients with chronic heart failure at home and explore its influencing factor,in order to provide evidence for related research.Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted on 206 elderly patients with chronic heart failure who were hospitalized from January 2022 to April 2023.The general situation,medication compliance scale,rational drug use self-efficacy scale and family caring index of patients were investigated.The medication compliance of patients was adjusted again one week after discharge.Mann-Whitney U rank sum test,Pearson/Spearman correlation coefficient and multiple linear regression analysis were used to analyze the status of medication compliance of elderly patients with chronic heart failure at home and its influencing factors.Results The score of medication compliance scale 1 week after discharge was(3.17±1.71).Age,medication type ordered at discharge,medication compliance score before discharge and family care index score were the influencing factors of medication compliance at home in elderly CHF patients(P＜0.05).Conclusion Elderly patients with chronic heart failure have poor medication compliance at home.Medical staff can formulate targeted intervention measures based on the influencing factors of medication compliance at home,so as to advance the threshold of prevention and improve patients' medication compliance at home.
