Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of drug therapy combined with traditional Chinese medicine acupoint intervention on the recovery of gastrointestinal function in patients after minimally invasive esophagectomy. Methods A total of 150 enrolled patients were randomly divided into 3 groups using a random number table:control group, observation group A,and observation group B.The control group received mosapride citrate tablets 5 mg via nasojejunal feeding tube three times daily starting from the first postoperative day.Observation group A received additional intramuscular injection of neostigmine methylsulfate injection 1 mg in the upper outer quadrant of the buttock once daily, based on the control group.Observation group B received additional bilateral acupoint injection of neostigmine methylsulfate injection 0.5 mg at Zusanli once daily, based on the control group. Results The time to first postoperative exhaust and defecation in observation group B was shorter than that in observation group A,which in turn was shorter than that in the control group, with statistically significant differences between groups(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of anastomotic leakage among the groups(P>0.05).The mean postoperative hospital stay in observation group B was shorter than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Both bilateral Zusanli acupoint injection and gluteal intramuscular injection of neostigmine methylsulfate can shorten the time to first postoperative exhaust and defecation, promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function, and improve patient tolerance to enteral nutrition in patients undergoing minimally invasive esophagectomy, without increasing the risk of esophagogastric anastomotic leakage.Bilateral Zusanli acupoint injection is superior to gluteal intramuscular injection in terms of therapeutic effect and can better reduce the hospital stay, which is of great significance for postoperative rehabilitation and clinical diagnosis and treatment.
