Current Situation of Performance Evaluation in Tertiary Public Hospital in Henan Province

Abstract：Objective To analyze the shortcomings of tertiary public hospitals in Henan Province in the"National Examination"scores,and propose suggestions to improve the overall level of performance evaluation for tertiary public hospitals.Methods Nine provincial,municipal,and county-level hospitals were randomly selected,interviews were conducted to investigate the hospitals,and the scores of hospitals in Henan Province in the"National Examination"from 2018 to 2021 were analyzed,and the differences in 26 performance evaluation indicators among hospitals in different regions were compared.Results From 2018 to 2021,there were 7 indicators with an average score rate of＜60％in a row,and there were statistical differences among hospitals in different regions,including the proportion of discharged patients undergoing surgery(P＜0.05),the proportion of discharged patients undergoing minimally invasive surgery,the proportion of discharged patients undergoing fourth level surgery,the classification of electronic medical record application function level,the proportion of anesthesiologists/pediatricians/critically ill/pathologists/traditional Chinese medicine physicians,the pass rate of hospital resident physicians participating in the physician qualification examination for the first time,and the research project funding per hundred health technicians.Conclusion Hospitals should improve their weak indicators in terms of policies and internal management of medical institutions,strengthen government guidance,use advantageous hospitals to drive disadvantaged hospitals,and achieve an overall improvement in the performance evaluation ranking of tertiary public hospitals.
