Abstract:Objective To investigate the interventional efficacy of biofeedback therapy in improving neurogenic gastrointestinal symptoms in patients with gastrointestinal motility disorders. Methods A total of 100 patients with gastrointestinal motility disorders admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from June 2022 to January 2024 were enrolled and randomly divided into a biofeedback group and a control group using the lottery method, with 50 cases in each group. The biofeedback group received individualized biofeedback training, including abdominal electromyography monitoring, respiratory regulation, psychological counseling, and other comprehensive interventions, for 12 weeks. The control group received conventional medication and health education.Gastrointestinal symptom scores(abdominal pain, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, etc.),quality of life scale scores, and gastrointestinal motility test results were observed before and after treatment in both groups.Data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 statistical software. Results After the intervention, the gastrointestinal symptom scores in the biofeedback group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05),and the quality of life scores were higher(P<0.05).Gastrointestinal motility tests revealed that the gastric emptying rate in the biofeedback group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05),and the colonic transit time was shorter(P<0.05).No severe adverse reactions were reported in either group. Conclusion Biofeedback therapy can effectively improve neurogenic gastrointestinal symptoms, enhance quality of life, and promote the recovery of gastrointestinal motility in patients with gastrointestinal motility disorders.
