Disability Acceptance and Influencing Factors in Elderly Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis

Abstract:Objective To investigate the disability acceptance and influencing factors of elderly patients with rheumatoid arthritis(RA),and to provide a basis for psychological support for elderly patients with RA disabilities.Methods A total of 220 elderly patients with RA were surveyed using the acceptance of disability scale-revised(ADS-R),Tilburg frailty scale,chronic disease self-management scale,and health assessment questionnaire-disability index(HAQ-DI).Results The disability acceptance score of elderly patients with RA was(79.19±4.55),and the scores of each dimension were ranked from high to low,inclusion dimension,transformation dimension,subordination dimension,and expansion dimension.Multiple linear regression analysis showed that education level,frailty,self-management level,and physical function status were the influencing factors of disability acceptance(P<0.05).Conclusion The disability acceptance of elderly patients with RA is at a medium level,and medical workers should pay attention to and evaluate the disability acceptance of patients as soon as possible,and carry out targeted interventions based on the dimensions and influencing factors of disability acceptance,so as to improve the disability acceptance level of patients and promote mental health.
