Screening Nutrition Risk and Influencing Factors Based on the NRS-2002 Scale in Patients with Cirrhosis and Sarcopenia

Abstract：Objective To screen the nutritional risk of patients with liver cirrhosis complicated with sarcopenia based on the nutritional risk screening 2002(NRS-2002)scale,and to analyze the influencing factors by multiple linear regression.Methods A total of 294 patients with cirrhosis and sarcopenia who were treated in Henan Provincial People's Hospital from September 2021 to June 2024 were collected and divided into a risk group and a non-risk group according to the NRS-2002 scale results.The general information and nutritional assessment of the two groups were compared,and the influencing factors of NRS-2002 risk were analyzed using logistic regression analysis.Results In this study,294 patients with cirrhosis and sarcopenia were evaluated using the NRS-2002 scale.It was found that 99 patients had no nutritional risk,while 195 patients had nutritional risk,with an incidence rate of 54.08％.The age,albumin,hemoglobin,and body mass index(BMI)of the risk group were higher than those of the non-risk group,and the proportion of ascites was higher than that of the non-risk group,the upper arm circumference,calf circumference,triceps skin fold(TSF),and arm muscle circumfer(AMC)were lower than those of the non-risk group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that age,albumin,hemoglobin,and BMI were independent factors that affected the nutritional risk of patients with cirrhosis and sarcopenia(P＜0.05).Conclusion Age,albumin,hemoglobin,and BMI are independent risk factors for nutritional risk in cirrhotic patients with sarcopenia.Clinical assessment and screening of nutritional risk in patients with cirrhosis and sarcopenia can be performed using the NRS-2002 scale to improve patient prognosis.
