Abstract:Objective To explore the microstructure changes of white matter in the offspring of gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM)through diffusion tensor imaging technology. Methods Retrospectively analyzed the clinical information and 3T diffusion tensor imaging data of GDM offspring born at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from July 2022 to August 2024 and a non-GDM group with gestational weeks at birth and gender matched. The clinical information and anisotropy fraction index(FA value)of diffusion tensor imaging were compared between the two groups. Results Compared with the healthy control group, the FA values of the corpus callosum pressure part, posterior limb of the internal capsule and thalamus in the offspring of GDM were significantly decreased(P<0.05),while there were no significant differences in the FA values of the frontal lobe, parietal lobe, caudate nucleus, lenticular nucleus, cerebele and occipital lobe regions(P>0.05).Conclusion The offspring of GDM showed abnormal white matter microstructure in multiple brain regions, which may indicate that GDM has a direct impact on the white matter structure of the offspring.
