Case Analysis of Technical Identification of Medical Accidents in a Certain Area from 2020 to 2024

Abstract:Objective To study the general characteristics of medical accident technical appraisal in a certain area in the past five years by retrospective analysis of 290 cases accepted for technical appraisal of medical accidents in a certain area from 2020 to 2024,analyze the causes of medical accidents,and provide suggestions for preventing medical accidents and reducing medical disputes.Methods A total of 290 cases of technical identification of medical accidents in a certain area from 2020 to 2024 were comprehensively analyzed from the aspects of identification and acceptance,completion of identification,medical institutions involved,departments involved,grade and responsibility distribution of medical accidents,and medical negligence behavior of medical accidents.Results(1)From 2020 to 2024,a total of 290 commissions for technical appraisal of medical accidents were accepted,and 133 cases were completed,accounting for 45.86%;there were 78 medical accidents in the completed identification cases,with an accident rate of 58.65%.(2)There were 82 tertiary hospitals involved in the identification cases.There was no significant difference in the rate of medical accidents among different types of medical institutions(P=0.402).(3)There were 31 departments involved in the identification cases,and the top three departments in the medical accident rate were general surgery(92.86%),orthopedics(68.42%)and plastic surgery(63.64%).(4)Among the cases that constitute medical accidents,the fourth-level medical accidents were the most,a total of 33 cases,accounting for 42.31%;there were 25 first-class medical accidents,accounting for 32.05%.Secondary medical accidents were the least,1 case,accounting for 1.28%.Medical institutions bear the most main responsibility,a total of 32 cases,accounting for 41.03%;full responsibility was the least,a total of 6 cases,accounting for 7.69%.(5)In the cases of medical malpractice,the most common three types of medical negligence were:non-standard perioperative treatment,non-standard medical record writing,and inadequate performance of the obligation to inform.Conclusion The most common cause of medical accidents is non-standard perioperative management.The hospital should strengthen the supervision of high-risk surgical departments such as general surgery,orthopedics and plastic surgery,enhance the awareness of practicing according to law and improve the management level of the hospital.Medical staff should implement the core system of medical quality and safety,improve the ability of clinical diagnosis and treatment through various ways,and actively fulfill the obligation of informing in the diagnosis and treatment activities to reflect medical humanistic care.
