Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical effect of acupuncture on non-motor symptoms in patients with Parkinson disease(PD)based on brain-intestinal linkage theory. Methods A total of 106 PD patients treated in Zhengzhou University Affiliated Zhengzhou Central Hospital from February 2022 to February 2024 were included and separated into the control group(53 cases, conventional western medicine)and the study group(53 cases, acupuncture treatment based on the brain-intestinal linkage theory+conventional western medicine)by random number table method. The unified Parkinson disease rating scale(UPDRS)score,Hamilton depression scale(HAMD)score,Parkinson disease sleep scale(PDSS)score, intestinal flora distribution, intestinal barrier function index and oxidative stress index were compared between the two groups. Results The study group had lower scores of UPDRS and HAMD after treatment than before treatment and the control group, while PDSS scores were higher(P<0.05).After treatment,Enterobacter was lower in the study group than before treatment and the control group, while Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium were higher(P<0.05).The study group had lower D-lactic acid and endotoxin after treatment than those before treatment and the control group(P<0.05),and also lower glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)and superoxide dismutase(SOD),while higher malondialdehyde(MDA)(P<0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture based on the theory of brain-intestinal linkage can significantly improve the non-motor symptoms of PD,alleviate the disease, regulate the intestinal flora, and enhance the intestinal barrier function.
