Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of short-term spinal cord stimulation(stSCS)and multi sensory stimulation in patients with consciousness disorders(DOC)after traumatic brain injury(TBI).Methods A total of 60 patients with post TBI DOC who were admitted in Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from June 2022 to June 2024 were selected, and randomly divided into the control group(30 cases, multi sensory stimulation)and the intervention group(30 cases, combination of stSCS and multi sensory stimulation). The consciousness status, cognitive function, and physiological function in both groups were compared. Results After 2 and 4 weeks of intervention, the coma recovery scale-revised(CRS-R),rancho los amigos scale-revised(RLAS-R)scores in both groups were increased(P<0.05),the disability rating scale(DRS)scores decreased(P<0.05),and in comparison of the control group,CRS-R,RLAS-R scores of the intervention group were higher(P<0.05),DRS scores were lower(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of stSCS and multi sensory stimulation in DOC patients after TBI can improve their consciousness status and promote the recovery of their cognitive and physiological functions.
