Clinical Effects on Treatment of Severe Prolapsed Circumferential Mixed Hemorrhoids with Stapler Hemorrhoid Resection Combined with Suspension Fixation

Abstract：Objective To investigate the efficacy of procedure for prolapse and hemorrhoids(PPH)combined with suspension fixation for the treatment of severe prolapsed circumferential mixed hemorrhoids(PCMH).Methods A total of 107 PCMH patients who visited the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from March 2021 to March 2023 were retrospectively collected and divided into a control group(52 cases,treated with PPH)and a combined group(55 cases,treated with PPH combined with suspension fixation)according to different surgical methods.Perioperative indexes,anal function,complications and recurrence rates were compared between the two groups.Results Compared with the control group,the combined group had a longer surgical time and a lower visual analog scale(VAS)during the first bowel movement(P＜0.05).After surgery,the resting pressure of the anal canal(ARP),maximum systolic pressure of the anal canal(AMSP),and resting pressure of the rectum(ARR)in both groups decreased compared to before surgery,but the combined group had higher postoperative ARP,AMSP,and ARR than the control group(P＜0.05).There was no statistical significant difference in the incidence of complications between the two groups(P＞0.05).The recurrence rate of the combined group(7.27％)was lower than that of the control group(21.15％)(P＜0.05).Conclusion Although PPH combined with suspension fixation surgery prolongs the surgical time for PCMH compared to PPH,it can reduce postoperative pain during defecation,improve anal function,and reduce long-term recurrence.
