Changes and Correlation of Heart Rate Variability and Cardiac Function Indexes in Patients with Heart Failure Complicated with Ventricular Arrhythmia

Abstract：Objective To explore the effects of heart rate variability(HRV)and changes in cardiac function indexes on patients with heart failure complicated with ventricular arrhythmia and their correlation,in order to provide reference for predicting ventricular arrhythmia in heart failure.Methods A total of 102 heart failure patients admitted to the Henan Provincial Chest Hospital from March 2023 to January 2024 were divided into group A(48 cases,no occasional ventricular arrhythmias)and group B(54 cases,have occasional ventricular arrhythmia).The changes of HRV and cardiac function indexes and the correlation between the two groups were analyzed and compared.Results Group A sleep root mean square of successive R-R interval differences(rMSSD),standard deviations of normal-to-normal R-R intervals(SDNN),composition ratio of R-R interval difference between adjacent normal cardiac cycles ≥ 50 ms(PNN50),standard deviation of average normal to normal(SDANN)were increased compared to when awake,average of the standard deviations of normal-to-normal intervals at 5-minute segments over 24 hours(ASDNN)were reduced compared to when awake(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in rMSSD,SDNN,PNN50,SDANN and ASDNN between awake and sleep in group B(P＞0.05).Group B early diastolic peak velocity/atrial systolic peak filling velocity(E/A),left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)were lower than that of group A,left atrial diameter(LAD),left ventricular end diastolic diameter(LVEDD)were higher than that of group A(P＜0.05).HRV indexes were positively correlated with E/A,LVEF,and negative correlated with LAD,LVEDD in patients with heart failure complicated with ventricular arrhythmia(P＜0.05).Conclusion The expression of rMSSD,SDNN,PNN50,SDANN in patients with heart failure complicated with ventricular arrhythmia was lower,and the heart function was also lower.The change of HRV index was closely related to heart function.The lower the HRV index,the worse the cardiac function,which can provide a reference basis for predicting ventricular arrhythmias in heart failure.
