Current Status and Influencing Factors of Research Utilization Among Clinical Nurses in Henan Province

Abstract：Objective To investigate the current status of research utilization among clinical nurses in Henan Province and analyze its influencing factors.Methods From April to July 2022,an online questionnaire survey was conducted among 332 clinical nurses from 10 prefecture-level cities in Henan Province,and the general information questionnaire,the research utilization questionnaire,and the organizational environment questionnaire was used to investigate their research utilization.Results The overall research utilization level of the 332 nurses fell between"very few shifts"and"a few shifts,"which was lower than levels reported in European and American countries.In terms of research utilization modes,indirect research utilization was the most common,while direct and persuasive research utilizations were less frequent.Professional title,clinical teaching,participation in academic conferences,literature reading and research experience,attitudes toward research utilization,beliefs,the inherent characteristics of the research itself,and the organizational environment were the main influencing factors of nurses'research utilization(P＜0.05).Conclusion Nursing administrators should enhance nurses' awareness and capacity for research utilization by providing diverse continuing education and training opportunities.Simultaneously,they should foster an organizational culture that pursues innovation and continuous improvement,while offering necessary support and rewards to nurses who actively apply research findings,thereby promoting and elevating the level of research utilization across the entire institution.
