Abstract:Objective To analyze the application effect of ultrasound assisted sodium hypochlorite solution and ultrasound-assisted ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid washing in root canal treatment of pulpitis patients. Methods A retrospective study was conducted to collect medical records of 60 patients with pulpitis who received root canal treatment in the Department of Stomatology at the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from January 2022 to December 2023 and were washed with ultrasound assisted sodium hypochlorite solution. They were included in Group A.The medical records of 60 patients with pulpitis who received root canal therapy at the same period and were treated with EDTA launder assisted by ultrasound were collected and included in group B.The clinical data of all patients were intact.Clinical efficacy, pain degree, antibacterial cleansing effect, inflammatory factors[C-reactive protein(CRP),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-6(IL-6)]and the occurrence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, there was no statistical significant difference in the total effective rate between the two groups of patients(P>0.05).After treatment, there was no statistical significant difference in the degree of pain between the two groups of patients(P>0.05).After flushing, the bacterial count in both groups of patients decreased, and group A was lower than group B,with a statistical significant difference(P<0.05).After treatment, the average levels of CRP,TNF-α,and IL-6 in the gingival crevicular fluid of the two groups of patients were lower than before treatment, and group A was lower than group B,with a statistical significant difference(P<0.05).There was no statistical significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups of patients(P>0.05).Conclusion Ultrasound assisted sodium hypochlorite solution washing and ultrasound-assisted ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid washing have similar therapeutic effects and safety for patients with pulpitis, but the former has better antibacterial, cleaning, and anti-inflammatory effects.
