Summary of the Best Evidence for Early Management of Osteosarcoma

Abstract:Objective To systematically search and summarize the best evidence for early assessment and management of osteosarcoma(OS)patients,providing a reference basis for further standardizing clinical practice.Methods The literature of CINAHL,Joanna Briggs Institute,CNKI,WANFANG,VIP,Embase,Web of Science,website of American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons(AAOS),British Orthopaedic Association(BOA)website,Yimaitong website,Chinese Medical Association website,OSMOSIS,PubMed,Medical Forum Network,China Orthopedics Network,Cochrane Library and Medical Education website were systematically searched until January 2024.After quality evaluation and evidence rating,the included literature should be summarized.Results A total of 15 articles were included,including 5 guidelines,4 best practices,4 systematic evaluations,and 2 expert consensus papers.The 19 best pieces of evidence covering four themes:assessment timing,assessment content,early imaging examination,and early care were summarized.Conclusion This study summarizes the best evidence of early evaluation and management of OS patients.Clinical healthcare professionals should flexibly convert the best available evidence into practical applications based on specific situations and patient characteristics,so as to further standardize the early evaluation process of OS patients and improve the clinical outcome of OS patients.
