Abstract:Objective To analyze the characteristics and trends of lung cancer incidence and mortality in Luoyang from 2010 to 2019,and to provide evidence for lung cancer prevention and control. Methods Using the data reported by the Luoyang City Cancer Registry, the incidence rate, mortality rate, composition ratio, standardized incidence rate, and world-standardized rate of lung cancer were calculated by urban and rural areas, gender, and age groups. The annual percentage change(APC)and 95%CI of the incidence(mortality)standardized rate and composition ratio of lung cancer were analyzed. The population standardized rate was calculated based on the 2000 Chinese standard population structure(China-standardized rate)and Segi's world standard population structure(World-standardized rate). Results From 2010 to 2019,the cumulative number of lung cancer cases reported in the tumor registration areas of Luoyang City was 18 823,with a China-standardized rate of 33.52 per 100 000 and World-standardized incidence rate of 32.40 per 100 000.The cumulative incidence rate for individuals aged 0 to 74 was 2.44%,and the truncated incidence rate for those aged 35 to 64 was 43.57 per 100 000,accounting for 16.63%.The China-standardized incidence rate in urban areas was 1.19 times that in rural areas, and the rate for males was 2.16 times that for females. From 2010 to 2019,the cumulative number of lung cancer deaths reported in the tumor registration areas of Luoyang City was 14 541,with a China-standardized mortality rate of 22.81 per 100 000 and a World-standardized mortality rate of 22.71 per 100 000.The cumulative mortality rate for individuals aged 0 to 74 was 1.64%,and the truncated mortality rate for those aged 35 to 64 was 27.52 per 100 000,accounting for 35.18%.The China-standardized incidence rate and mortality rate of lung cancer in urban areas were 1.24 times that in rural areas, and the rate for males was 2.43 times that for females. The age-specific incidence and mortality rates of lung cancer both increased with age. From 2010 to 2019,the overall incidence and mortality rates of lung cancer in Luoyang City showed a stable trend, while the incidence rate and composition ratio of lung cancer in rural areas showed a significant upward trend. Conclusion The burden of lung cancer in Luoyang City ranks first among all malignant tumors. The incidence and mortality rates of lung cancer have not shown a downward trend. The incidence and mortality rates in rural areas are increasing.Comprehensive prevention and control efforts for lung cancer should be continuously strengthened.
