Abstract:Objective To explore the effects of simultaneous dose-escalation intensity-modulated radiotherapy on microvessel density, serum vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)and receptors in patients with endometrial cancer. Methods A total of 128 patients with endometrial cancer admitted to Huaihe Hospital of Henan University from August 2020 to August 2022 were selected as the research subjects and divided into the observation group and the control group according to the treatment plan, with 64 cases in each group. The control group received carboplatin plus paclitaxel chemotherapy(TC regimen),while the observation group received TC chemotherapy combined with concurrent intensified-modulated radiotherapy.Comparative analyses were conducted regarding treatment efficacy, microvascular density, serum biomarkers(VEGF and receptors),incidence of adverse reactions, local recurrence rates, and quality of life. Results At 4 weeks post-treatment,the total effective rate of 73.44%(47/64)in the observation group was significantly higher than the control group's 51.56%(33/64)(P<0.05).Post-treatment evaluations showed lower microvascular density, serum VEGF levels, and reduced expression of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 1(VEGFR1)and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2(VEGFR2)in the observation group compared to the control group(P<0.05).No statistically significant differences were observed in adverse reaction rates between the two groups during treatment(P>0.05).Notably,the local recurrence rate in the observation group was 6.25%(4/64)compared to the control group's 18.75%(12/64)(P<0.05).Three-month post-treatment evaluations revealed higher quality-of-life scores across all dimensions(functional status, physical condition,social/family status, and emotional well-being)in the observation group than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Synchronous dose-escalation intensity-modulated radiotherapy for endometrial cancer can effectively improve clinical efficacy, reduce microvessel density, serum VEGF and receptor levels, inhibit local recurrence, improve the quality of life of patients, and has high safety.
