Abstract:Objective To investigate the effects of dyadic coping interventions on psychological resilience and quality of life in young and middle-aged bladder cancer patients undergoing intravesical chemotherapy and their spouses. Methods Using convenience sampling, eligible young and middle-aged bladder cancer patients and their spouses treated in the urology department of a tertiary grade-A hospital in Henan between June 2022 and May 2023 were enrolled as study participants.Participants were randomly assigned to either the intervention group or the control group(43 dyads each)using a random number table. The control group received routine nursing care, while the intervention group received dyadic coping-based nursing interventions in addition to routine care. Before and after the intervention, psychological resilience was assessed using the Connor-Davidson resilience scale(CD-RISC-10),and quality of life was evaluated using the Chinese version of the WHO Quality of Life Brief Scale(WHOQOL-BREF).Results Before the intervention, there were no differences in psychological resilience and quality of life scores between the two groups(P>0.05).After the intervention, the intervention group had higher scores in psychological resilience and quality of life compared to before intervention(P<0.05).After intervention, the scores in both psychological resilience and quality of life were higher in the intervention group than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Implementing dyadic coping interventions for young and middle-aged bladder cancer patients receiving intravesical chemotherapy and their spouses can enhance psychological resilience and quality of life for both members of the couple.
