Current Status and Influencing Factors of Elderly Patients with Coronary Heart Disease Participating in Stage Ⅱ Cardiac Rehabilitation

Abstract：Objective To investigate the barriers and influencing factors of cardiac rehabilitation in elderly patients with coronary artery disease and to establish a foundation for developing strategies to promote effective implementation of cardiac rehabilitation.Methods This study included 244 elderly patients with coronary artery disease.They were interviewed using a general questionnaire,a tool to measure self-efficacy for cardiac rehabilitation,and a tool to measure barriers to cardiac rehabilitation.Results The total score for barriers to cardiac rehabilitation among 244 elderly patients with coronary artery disease was(56.35±15.58)points,and the total score for self-efficacy regarding exercise in cardiac rehabilitation was(34.62±6.93)points.Pearson correlation coefficient analysis revealed that the total score for barriers to cardiac rehabilitation showed a significant negative correlation with self-efficacy for cardiac rehabilitation exercise(r=-0.593,P＜0.01).The results of multivariate linear regression analysis indicated that educational attainment,monthly income,place of residence,duration of illness,knowledge of cardiac rehabilitation,and self-efficacy regarding cardiac rehabilitation exercise were factors influencing participation in the second stage of cardiac rehabilitation among elderly patients with coronary artery disease(P＜0.05).Conclusion The barriers to participation in the second phase of cardiac rehabilitation among elderly patients with coronary artery disease are moderate.To improve participation,it is urgent to strengthen standardised health information regarding cardiac rehabilitation and develop individualised interventions.
