Therapeutic Effect of Internal Carotid Artery Stenting Assisted Drug Therapy on Internal Carotid Artery Subtotal Occlusion

Abstract：Objective To investigate the clinical effect of carotid artery stenting(CAS)assisted drug treatment of internal carotid artery subtotal occlusion(ICASO).Methods According to the treatment plan,102 patients with ICASO in Fuwai Central China Cardiovascular Hospital from July 2020 to May 2024 were divided into two groups.The control group was given conventional drug treatment,and the observation group was given additional CAS treatment on the basis of control group.The levels of cerebral blood perfusion[relative time to peak(rTTP),relative mean transit time(rMTT),relative cerebral blood volume(rCBV),relative cerebral blood flow(rCBF)],cognitive function[Minimum mental state examination(MMSE),Montreal cognitive assessment(MoCA)]were compared between the two groups.The recurrence rate of stroke and the incidence of adverse reactions within 6 months were analyzed.Results There was no statistically difference in the levels of rCBV and rCBF within and between the two groups before and after treatment(P＞0.05).After 6 months of treatment,the levels of rTTP and rMTT in both groups decreased,and the levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05).The MMSE and MoCA scores in both groups increased,and the scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05).The recurrence rate of stroke in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05).There was no statistically difference in the occurrence of complications between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion The treatment of CAS assisted drug therapy for ICASO has good clinical efficacy,can effectively improve cerebral perfusion,promote cognitive function recovery,and effectively reduce the risk of stroke recurrence.
