Abstract:Objective To explore the application of exercise intervention based on cross theoretical models in patients undergoing home peritoneal dialysis. Methods Data from 36 end-stage renal disease(ESRD)patients who underwent regular exercise intervention at home peritoneal dialysis from March 2023 to March 2024 at Henan Provincial People's Hospital were collected and included in the control group.Data from 36 ESRD patients who underwent home peritoneal dialysis and exercise intervention based on a cross theoretical model were collected during the same period, and included in the intervention group. The intervention lasted for six months. The exercise compliance of the patients before the intervention and at 6 months after the intervention[using the hospital-made questionnaire on exercise compliance of home peritoneal dialysis patients],nutritional status[body mass index, hemoglobin, albumin index levels],physical activity status[Karnofsky performance status(KPS)],and quality of life[the MOS item short from health survey(SF-36)]were statistically analyzed. Results After 6 months of intervention, the exercise compliance score,KFS score, and SF-36 score of the intervention group were higher than those of the control group, and the body mass index, hemoglobin, and albumin levels were higher than those of the control group, with statistical significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of exercise intervention based on cross theoretical models in home peritoneal dialysis patients can ensure their exercise compliance, improve their nutritional status, and enhance their physical activity status and quality of life.
