Abstract:Objective To investigate the impact of IntraSPINE-assisted minimally invasive transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion(MIS-TLIF)on Oswestry disability index(ODI)scores, electromyography, and tissue trauma in patients with double-level lumbar spondylolisthesis. Methods A prospective study was conducted on 103 patients with double-level lumbar spondylolisthesis admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University from January 2022 to October 2023.The patients were randomly divided into an observation group(52 cases)and a control group(51 cases)using a random number table method. The observation group used IntraSPINE to assist MIS-TLIF,while the control group used MIS-TLIF.The surgical conditions, complications, trauma indicators[creatine kinase(CK),interleukin-6(IL-6),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)],electromyography indicators(F-wave latency and conduction velocity),ODI,and lumbar and lower limb visual analog scale(VAS)scores were compared between the two groups. Results There was no significant difference in the surgical conditions between the two groups of patients(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the levels of serum CK,IL-6,and TNF-α between the observation group and the control group on postoperative day 1 and day 5(P>0.05).The F-wave latency of the peroneal nerve and tibial nerve in the observation group was lower than that in the control group at 3 and 6 months after surgery, while the F-wave conduction velocity was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).The VAS scores of the patients in the observation group were lower than those in the control group at 3 and 6 months after surgery, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There were no complications in both groups during the operation. Conclusion The IntraSPINE system combined with MIS-TLI for the treatment of double-level lumbar spondylolisthesis can effectively alleviate pain in the waist and lower limbs, improve electromyographic indicators, and has high safety without increasing surgical tissue trauma.
