Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between serum soluble triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cell-1(sTREM-1)and tumor necrosis factor a(TNF-α)levels and pulmonary infection after percutaneous vertebroplasty(PVP)in patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture(OVCF)and their detection value. Methods A total of 183 patients with OVCF treated in Henan Second People's Hospital were enrolled between January 2019 and May 2022.According to presence or absence of pulmonary infection after PVP,they were divided into infection group(43 cases)and non-infection group(140 cases). The general data, levels of serum sTREM-1 and TNF-α,and immune function in the two groups were compared. The predictive value of serum sTREM-1 and TNF-α for postoperative pulmonary infection was analyzed. The prognosis in the two groups was compared after 1 year of follow-up.Results There was no significant difference in gender, smoking history, anesthesia methods, hypertension or diabetes mellitus between the two groups(P>0.05),but there were significant differences in age and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)(P<0.05).The levels of serum sTREM-1 and TNF-α in infection group were higher than those in non-infection group(P<0.05).The levels of serum CD3+,CD4+and CD4+/CD8+i n infection group were lower than those in non-infection group(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference in CD8+level between the two groups(P>0.05).The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves analysis showed that the area under curve(AUC)of sTREM-1 combined with TNF-α in the diagnosis of pulmonary infection was 0.911,greater than that of single index(0.846,0.831).After 1 year of follow-up,excellent rate in infection group was lower than that in non-infection group(P<0.05).Conclusion The levels of serum sTREM-1 and TNF-α are correlated with pulmonary infection in OVCF patients after PVP.Clinically, levels of serum sTREM-1 and TNF-α should be paid attentions to,and active prevention of infection should be conducted.
