Abstract:Objective To investigate the correlations of clinicopathological and mammographic features with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2)gene amplification in breast cancer. Methods The clinicopathological and mammographic features of 184 breast cancer patients with HER2 2+of the result of immunohistochemistry(IHC)examination were retrospectively analyzed, then fluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH)testing was used to detect the status of HER2 gene, and patients were divided into HER2 gene amplification group and non-amplification group according to the results. The differences in clinicopathological and mammographic features between the two groups were analyzed, and the independent factors of HER2 gene amplification were analyzed by logistic regression. Results A total of 184 breast cancer patients,34 patients were classified as HER2 gene amplification group and 150 patients were classified as non-amplification group;and patients with pathological grade 3 and Ki-67 ≥20%were more likely to appear in the group of HER2 gene amplification(P<0.05).On mammograms, the breast glands types and accompanied signs had significant differences between two group(P<0.05),especially for breast cancer patients with scattered fibro-glandular type and skin or nipple abnormalities were more likely to be present in the HER2 gene amplification group.Logistic regression results showed that Ki-67 ≥ 20%was the independent influence factor of HER2 gene amplification. Conclusion Clinicopathological and preoperative mammographic features were influencing factors for HER2 gene amplification in breast cancer, with Ki-67 ≥20%as an independent influencing factor.
