Abstract:Objective To explore the latent profile characteristics of newly hired nurses' medical narrative ability and analyze the influencing factors of different potential profiles, and provide reference for intervention research to improve the medical narrative ability of newly hired nurses. Methods A total of 136 new nurses from 5 hospitals in Henan Province were selected and surveyed using the general information survey, narrative competence scale(NCS),Jefferson scale of empathy health professiona(JSE-HP).Results The medical narrative ability of newly hired nurses was divided into five categories:low narrative ability-insufficient understanding and reflection group(0.7%),medium narrative ability-insufficient understanding and reflection group(5.1%),balanced group(27.0%),medium narrative ability-insufficient attention and listening group(48.5%),and high narrative ability-insufficient attention and listening group(18.6%).The results of logistic regression analysis showed that satisfaction with the management mode of the department was a potential influencing factor on the medical narrative ability profile of newly hired nurses(P<0.05).Conclusion There is heterogeneity in the medical narrative ability of newly hired nurses, and hospital management can develop targeted training programs based on the characteristics and influencing factors of medical narrative ability to effectively enhance the medical narrative ability of newly hired nurses.
