Effects of Changes in Estrogen Levels Before and After HCG Trigger on Clinical Outcomes of In Vitro Fertilization-Embryo Transfer Patients

Abstract：Objective To analyze the effects of the serum estradiol(E2)level before and after trigger on oocyte quality,embryo quality and pregnancy outcome in patients with assisted reproductive therapy.Methods From June 2021 to June 2023,598 patients who received in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer(IVF-ET)and intracytoplasmic sperm microinjection assisted reproductive technology(ICSI-ET)in Zhengzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital were selected as the study subjects.The group was divided according to the change trend of estradiol E2 level on the trigger day and 12 hours after the trigger.The patients whose E2 level increased after the trigger were included in the increase group,and the patients whose E2 level decreased after the trigger were included in the decrease group.The oocyte quality,embryo quality and pregnancy status of the two groups were compared.Results After HCG trigger,there were no significant differences in the number of eggs obtained and the total number of high-quality embryos between the increasing group and the decreasing group(P＞0.05),but the total 2PN number,total cleavage 2PN number and total available embryos in the increasing group were higher than those in the decreasing group(P＜0.05).There were no significant differences in HCG positive rate,clinical pregnancy rate,ectopic pregnancy rate,multiple pregnancy rate and early abortion rate between two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion In patients treated with IVF-ET or ICSI-ET assisted reproductive technology,the change of E2 level after trigger has no significant effect on oocyte quality,embryo quality and pregnancy outcome,but it has some effect on oocyte fertilization.
