Abstract:Objective To investigate the risk factors for premature rupture of membranes(PROM)in pregnant women so as to provide guidance for the prevention and clinical management of PROM.Methods A 1∶1 matched case-control study was conducted. The data of pregnant women who were hospitalized and gave birth at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from December 2020 to December 2022 were collected.Among the pregnant women enrolled,126 pregnant women with PROM were selected as the PROM group. At the same time,126 normal pregnant women were selected as the control group by convenience sampling method.Relevant clinical data of the two groups were compared, and logistic regression analysis was performed to identify the risk factors for PROM in pregnant women. Results Compared with the control group, the proportions of women with education level of junior high school or below, women with passive smoking history and history of reproductive tract infections were higher, the cervix uteri was shorter, the proportion of women participating in physical exercise and serum vitamin C(Vit C)and vitamin E(Vit E)levels were lower in the PROM group(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis found that passive smoking history and short cervix uteri were risk factors for PROM in pregnant women, while education level of high school or technical secondary school, junior college and above, high serum Vit C and Vit E levels were protective factors(P<0.05).Conclusion Education level, passive smoking history, cervical length, and serum Vit C and Vit E levels are influencing factors for the occurrence of PROM in pregnant women.
