Influencing Factors of Multidrug-Resistant Acinetobacter Baumannii Infection in the Comprehensive ICU of Zhumadian Central Hospital

Abstract：Objective To explore the influencing factors of multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii(MDRAB)infection in the comprehensive intensive care unit(ICU)of Zhumadian Central Hospital.Methods A retrospective collection of clinical data was conducted on 216 middle-aged and elderly patients with Acinetobacter baumannii(AB)infection in the comprehensive ICU of Zhumadian Central Hospital from January 2021 to January 2024.Based on the multidrug-resistant status of AB patients,they were divided into MDRAB infection group(85 cases)and non MDRAB infection group(131 cases).Baseline data and laboratory indicators 3 days before AB infection were collected at the time of admission to the comprehensive ICU.Logistic regression analysis was used to identify the influencing factors of MDRAB infection in patients in the comprehensive ICU of Zhumadian Central Hospital.Results The age,proportion of tracheal intubation,types of antibiotics used before AB infection,and proportion of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)in the MDRAB infection group were all higher than those in the non MDRAB infection group.The levels of hemoglobin,albumin,and white blood cell count were lower than those in the non MDRAB infection group,with statistical significant differences(P＜0.05).According to logistic regression analysis,older age,more types of antibiotics used before AB infection,concomitant chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,low hemoglobin levels,low albumin levels,and low white blood cell count levels were risk factors for MDRAB infection in patients in the comprehensive ICU of Zhumadian Central Hospital(OR＞1,P＜0.05).Conclusion The older the age,the more types of antibiotics used before AB infection,the presence of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,low hemoglobin levels,low albumin levels,and low white blood cell count levels are the key populations for MDRAB infection in the comprehensive ICU of Zhumadian Central Hospital,and the above indicators are all influencing factors for MDRAB infection in hospital comprehensive ICU patients.
