Abstract:Objective To investigate the current status of self-advocacy ability among patients with endometrial cancer, further path analysis was conducted. Methods A total of 238 patients with endometrial cancer admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from February 2023 to May 2024 were selected as the study subjects.General information of the patients was collected through a questionnaire survey.Perceived control was assessed using the cancer experience and effectiveness scale(CEES),psychological resilience was evaluated using the Connor-Davidson resilience scale(CD-RISC),and self-advocacy ability was assessed using the female self-advocacy in cancer survivorship(FSACS).Descriptive analysis,Pearson correlation analysis, and structural equation modeling analysis were conducted using SPSS 27.0 and AMOS software to explore the influencing pathways. Results A total of 238 questionnaires were distributed in this study, with an effective response rate of 98.32%(234/238).The self-advocacy ability score of 234 patients with endometrial cancer was(73.18±9.86)points.Pearson analysis showed that mental toughness was positively correlated with self-advocacy ability(r=0.532,P<0.05),and perceived control was positively correlated with mental toughness and self-advocacy ability(r=0.471,0.610,P<0.05).Multiple linear regression analysis showed that education level, age, mental toughness and perceived control were the influencing factors of self-advocacy ability in patients with endometrial cancer.A mediating relationship model was constructed, and Bootstrap verification showed that mental toughness had a significant mediating effect between perceived control and self-advocacy ability in patients with endometrial cancer(95%CI:0.306-0.894,P<0.001).Conclusion Psychological resilience of patients with endometrial cancer plays a mediating role between their perceived control and self-advocacy ability.Clinicians can develop targeted measures to enhance patients'self-advocacy level by regulating their psychological resilience and perceived control ability.
