Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of Du-moxibustion combined with Tuzhi Bazhen decoction in the prevention and treatment of bone marrow suppression caused by chemotherapy after gastric and colorectal cancer surgery. Methods The patients who underwent postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy for gastric and colorectal cancer in Henan Province Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine(the Second Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine)from June 2021 to November 2022 were randomly divided into control group(43 cases)and observation group(38 cases). The control group was given routine first-line chemotherapy, while the observation group was given Du-moxibustion combined with Tuzhi bazhen decoction on the basis of the control group. The selection of chemotherapy regimen shall be carried out according to the guidance of the 2021 Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology(CSCO).First, the differences in the degree of bone marrow suppression, the number of times of application of drugs to increase leukocytes, nutritional indicators,Karnofsky performance status(KPS),body mass index(BMI),the impact on the chemotherapy regimen and the laboratory indicators[white blood cell count(WBC),neutrophil count(NEUT),red blood cell count(RBC),platelet count(PLT),lymphocyte count(LYMPH),hemoglobin(HB),albumin(ALB),prealbumin(PA),retinol binding protein(RBP)]on the 7th day after the end of the last chemotherapy were compared between the two groups during the 6-cycle chemotherapy, and finally logistic regression analysis was performed on the relevant risk factors that may affect the degree of bone marrow suppression. Results Compared with the control group, the observation group had lower degree of bone marrow suppression, fewer times of application of leukocyte-enhancing drugs and less influence on the chemotherapy regimen(P<0.05).On the 7th day after the end of 6 cycles of chemotherapy, the WBC,NEUT,LYMPH,ALB,PA,RBP,BMI and KPS score of the observation group were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference in the RBC,PLT and HB(P>0.05).The later the clinical stage and lower the BMI of the patient, the greater the degree of bone marrow suppression after chemotherapy(P<0.05).Conclusion Du-moxibustion combined with Tuzhi bazhen decoction has a significant effect on the prevention and treatment of reduction in WBC and NEUT during postoperative chemotherapy for gastric and colorectal cancer.Disease stage and BMI were independent risk factors affecting the degree of bone marrow suppression.
