Abstract:Objective To explore the correlation between molecular classification of breast cancer and ultrasound imaging characteristics and pathological histological characteristics. Methods A total of 166 breast cancer patients admitted from January 2022 to December 2023 underwent two-dimensional ultrasound and color Doppler flow imaging, and 44 patients were included in the Luminal A group,78 in the Luminal B group,16 in the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER-2)overexpression group, and 28 were included in the triple group. The imaging data was analyzed. Results The distribution of pathological types varies among patients with different molecular subtypes.Luminal A group was more likely to present with invasive ductal carcinoma(86.36%),Luminal B group was more likely to present with invasive ductal carcinoma(67.95%),HER-2 overexpression group was more likely to present with invasive ductal carcinoma(68.75%),and triple negative group was more likely to present with invasive ductal carcinoma(57.14%).There was no statistically differencein the aspect ratio and whether the edges were regular among patients with different molecular subtypes(P>0.05).There was statistically difference in whether the boundaries were clear and the morphology was regular between groups(P<0.05).Among them, the three negative group had the highest rates of clear boundaries and regular morphology. There were statistically differences in calcification status and morphology among patients with different molecular subtypes(P<0.05).The incidence of calcification in Luminal A group,Luminal B group,HER-2 overexpression group, and triple negative group was 36.36%,58.97%,75.00%,and 25.00%,respectively.There was no statistically difference in the blood flow grading, mean blood flow velocity, and blood flow resistance among patients in different groups(P>0.05).However,there was a statistically significant difference in the Young's modulus value(Emax)with the highest elasticity value within and around the lesion. The Emax value was highest in the HER-2 overexpression group and lowest in the Luminal A group; The Emax-shell-1.0,Emax-shell-2.0,and Emax-shell-3.0 were highest in the Luminal B group, while the Emax-shell-1.0,Emax-shell-2.0,and Emax-shell-3.0 were lowest in the triple negative group(P<0.05).Conclusion The molecular typing of breast cancer is significantly related to the calcification characteristics and elastic modulus of ultrasound, which has potential clinical significance for the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
