Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of early nourishing enteral nutrition support on children with sepsis. Methods A total of 86 children with sepsis treated in Henan Children's Hospital from January 2023 to January 2024 were randomly divided into two groups. Both groups received early enteral nutrition support. The control group received adequate feeding and the observation group received nourishing feeding. The incidence of feeding intolerance and the levels of albumin(ALB),pre-albumin(PA),retinol-binding protein(RBP),endotoxin(ET),D-lactic acid(D-LA)and diamine oxidase(DAO)were compared between the two groups. Results The incidence of feeding intolerance in observation group(25.58%)was lower than that in control group(58.14%)(P<0.05).After 14 days of intervention, the levels of ALB,PA and RBP were increased in both groups, while the levels of ET,D-LA and DAO were decreased(P<0.05),and the levels of ALB,PA and RBP were higher in the observation group after 14 days of intervention, while the levels of ET,D-LA and DAO were lower(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with adequate feeding, early nourishing enteral nutrition support can effectively reduce the risk of feeding intolerance, improve nutritional status and intestinal barrier function of children with sepsis, and has higher clinical application value.
