Abstract:Objective Based on the bibliometric analysis of relevant literatures on the application of extracorporeal shock wave therapy(ESWT)in inflammatory diseases and the visualization map,to expound the research hotspot and trend in this field. Methods The Web of Science database core collection and CNIK were searched from 2011 to 2022 for the pertinent literature on the use of ESWT on inflammatory illnesses. In order to identify hotspots and trends,CiteSpace software was used to examine publication years,nations,organizations,authors,journals,co-cited references, and keywords. The analysis's findings describe the developments in ESWT for inflammatory illnesses. Results A total of 806 articles were included, including 307 articles in Web of Science database and 499 articles in CNKI database.Nicola Maffulli was the most prolific author in the Web of Science. The high-yielding institution was the University of Salerno in Italy;the co-occurrence results of keywords were extracorporeal shock wave therapy(200),management(62)and plantar fasciitis(56).The most productive author in China was Liu Shuitao from the Affiliated Hospital of Logistics University of Chinese People's Armed Police Force. The high-production institution was Hunan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the co-occurrence results of keywords were mainly scapulohumeral periarthritis(105),shock wave(72),and pain(34).Conclusion Plantar fasciitis, scapulohumeral periarthritis, and lateral epicondylitis were the primary focus of ESWT research in the last ten years, both domestically and internationally. It is projected that knee osteoarthritis and chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndromes will be a research hotspot nationally as well as globally and that evidence-based acupoint selection in traditional Chinese medicine will become a new research hotspot.
