Correlation Between Adolescent Depression and Social Psychological Factors and Family Environmental Factors

Abstract：Objective To explore the relevance of social psychological factors and family environment factors in adolescent depression.Methods A total of 112 adolescents with depression admitted to the Ninth People's Hospital of Zhengzhou from July 2020 to December 2022 were selected as the case group,and 112 non-depressed adolescents matched with the general data were selected as the control group.The social support rating scale(SSRS),simplified coping style questionnaire(SCSQ)and family environment scale-Chinese version(FES-CV)were evaluated in both groups.Results The scores of objective support,subjective support,support utilization in SSRS,positive coping in SCSQ and closeness,organization,knowledge,entertainment and control in FES-CV of the case group were lower than the control group,while the scores of negative coping in SCSQ and conflict in FES-CV of the case group were higher than the control group(P＜0.05).There was a correlation between SSRS,SCSQ and FES-CV in the case group(P＜0.05).Conditional logistic regression analysis(1∶1 pairing)results showed that positive coping in SCSQ and closeness and knowledge in FES-CV were independent protective factors for adolescent depression,while negative coping in SCSQ and conflict in FES-CV were independent risk factors for adolescent depression(P＜0.05).Conclusion Adolescent depression is related to social psychological factors and family environment factors,and there is an obvious correlation between them,so we should improve the coping style and family environment for intervention and treatment of adolescent depression.
