Abstract:Objective To analyze the research status, hotspots and development trend of biologics for the treatment of ulcerative colitis(UC),and to provide reference for the related research of UC biologics. Methods The relevant literatures on UC biologics published in the Web of Science core database from January 1,2013 to December 31,2022 were searched.Number of publications,country/region,organization,authors,journals and other literature key characteristics of the related studies were identificated by using literature metrological analysis online platform(https://bibliometric.com/)and statistical analysis software CiteSpace. Results A total of 3 928 literatures were included, with the number of publications increasing year by year. There were 109 countries/regions that carried out research in this field, with the US taking the lead(1 209 articles,31.03%of the total number of papers),and close cooperation with other countries.A total of 456 institutions participated in the research, and the University of California,San Diego ranked first in the number of publications(121 articles)and the degree of centrality(0.09).The author of the most published paper was Peyrin-Biroulet L(101 articles)from the University of Lorraine in France. The most frequently cited author was Sandborn W J(1 055 times)of the University of California,San Diego.A total of 1 012 journals published relevant literatures, and the journals with the highest number of publications and total citation frequency were Inflammatory Bowel Diseases(267 articles,1 376 times). The literature with the highest co-citation frequency was the review"Ulcerative colitis"published by professor Ungaro R et al,in 2017.The literature"Tofacitinib as induction and maintenance therapy for ulcerative colitis"ranked first in the center degree of co-citation literature published by Sandborn W J et al in 2017.The research in this field mainly focuses on the effectiveness of biological agents, therapeutic drug monitoring, drug use in special groups, pharmacoeconomic evaluation, etc. Conclusion There is still a gap between the research of UC biologies in China and abroad.International cooperation and communication should be strengthened, and the research hotspots and future development trends in this field should be followed up in time.
