Correlation Between Social Participation and Cognitive Function Among Chronically Ⅲ Elderly in Henan Province and Analysis of Influencing Factors

Abstract:Objective To analyze the relationship between multi-dimensional social participation and cognitive function in the elderly with chronic disease in Henan,and to provide reference for the prevention of cognitive dysfunction,improvement of disease and better lifestyle change in the elderly with chronic disease.Methods The multi-stage stratified cluster sampling method was used to conduct a questionnaire survey among the elderly with chronic disease in Henan.x2 test was used to analyze the differences in the basic conditions of the elderly with chronic disease within the group.Pearson correlation analysis and logistic regression were used to analyze the relationship between the multidimensional social participation and cognitive function of the elderly with chronic disease and the factors affecting the cognitive function of the elderly with chronic disease.Results There was a correlation between multi-dimensional social participation and cognitive function in the elderly with chronic disease(P<0.01)in Henan.The difference was statistically significant,and was a positive correlation(r>0.05).Gender,age,education level,marital status,whether living alone,economic income and social participation ability of the chronically ill elderly were the factors influencing cognitive function(P<0.05).Conclusion There is a correlation between multidimensional social participation and cognitive function in the elderly with chronic disease in Henan.Encouraging the elderly with chronic diseases to actively participate in society can better prevent cognitive dysfunction.
