Abstract:Objective To investigate the correlation among the carotid ultrasound characteristics, the hemorheology indexes and the degree of coronary artery stenosis in elderly patients with coronary heart disease. Methods A total of 164 elderly patients with coronary heart disease treated in Zhengzhou Seventh People's Hospital from March 2021 to March 2023 were selected as the case group, and 150 elderly healthy cases were selected as the control group. The both groups were underwent carotid ultrasound examination and hemorheology indexes testing, and the case group was underwent coronary angiography. The case group was divided into mild stenosis group(43 cases),moderate stenosis group(74 cases),and severe stenosis group(47 cases)according to the Gensini scores.Carotid ultrasound features and hemorheology indexes were compared between the two groups, and the correlation between Gensini score and carotid ultrasound features and hemorheology indexes in the case group was analyzed. Results The carotid artery ultrasound characteristics of pulse wave velocity(systole),intima-media thickness(IMT),plaque number, plaque area, and Crouse plaque scores, and the hemorheology indexes of whole blood high shear viscosity, whole blood low shear viscosity, plasma viscosity, erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR)and plasma fibrinogen(Fib)in the case group were higher than the control group(P<0.05).The carotid ultrasound characteristics and hemorheology indexes in the severe stenosis group were higher than those in the moderate stenosis group and the mild stenosis group, and the carotid ultrasound characteristics, the hemorheology indexes in the mild stenosis group were higher than those in the moderate stenosis group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The multiple linear regression analysis indicated that the Gensini scores and plaque number in the case group was correlated(β=0.368),plaque area(β=0.169),IMT(β=0.143)and Fib(β=0.106),the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The carotid ultrasound characteristics and hemorheology indexes in the elderly patients with coronary heart disease are abnormal, and the Gensini scores are correlated with plaque number, plaque area,IMT and Fib.It can provide clinical basis for early diagnosis and condition monitoring of coronary heart disease.
