Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of E-cadherin in young women with breast cancer. Methods The clinical data of 74 young female breast cancer patients admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Science and Technology from January 2016 to September 2019 were retrospectively analyzed.Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of E-cadherin in patients, analyze its correlation with clinicopathological characteristics, and analyze the survival and prognostic risk factors of patients. Results The expression of E-cadherin in patients with lymph node metastasis, tumor size,TNM stage, histological grade, estrogen receptor, progesterone receptor, three negative type was related to Ki-67 expression(P<0.05),but not related to HER-2 expression(P>0.05).The disease free survival rate and overall survival rate of patients with low expression of E-cadherin were lower than those with high expression(P<0.05).Cox regression univariate analysis showed that lymph node metastasis, tumor size,TNM stage and E-cadherin expression were the factors influencing disease-free survival rate of young women with breast cancer(P<0.05).Cox proportional hazards model was used for multivariate analysis. The results showed that TNM stage was a factor affecting disease-free survival rate and overall survival rate of young women with breast cancer(P<0.05).Conclusion Young women with low expression of E-cadherin have a worse prognosis in breast cancer.E-cadherin may become a target for diagnosis, treatment and prognosis evaluation of young women with breast cancer.
