Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical outcomes of total knee arthroplasty with posterior stability prosthesis for osteoarthritis combined with valgus deformity. Methods Twenty-two patients of osteoarthritis combine with valgus deformity who had received total knee arthroplasty were retrospectively analyzed. The range of motion (ROM) and the scores of hospital for special surgery were measured preoperatively and postoperatively. The complications were analyzed. Results The patients were followed up for an average time of 12 months. The average ROM were (95.45±8.42)° before operation and (114.09±7.34)° after operation, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.001).The average HSS were (37.73±4.05) scores before operation and (77.27±5.27) scores after operation. One case of delayed union and one case of paralysis of common peroneal nerve were observed postoperatively. There was no infection and deep vein thrombosis. Conclusion The total knee arthroplasty with posterior stability prosthesis is an effective way to treat the osteoarthritis combined with valgus deformity. The soft tissue should be good balanced during the operation. The good clinical outcome will achieved.
