Abstract:Objective To evaluate the change of the levels of neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), lipoprotein associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2) and their significance in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) complicated with coronary artery disease (CAD).Methods 125 study subjects were divide into the simple T2DM group (30 cases of T2DM), simple CAD group (30 cases of CAD), and T2DM+CAD group (30 cases of T2DM complicated with CAD), control group (35 healthy subjects). The clinical and biochemical data were collected for comparing the differences in NLR and Lp-PLA2 among four groups. Results The NLR and Lp-PLA2 levels in the T2DM+CAD group were higher than in the T2DM, CAD and control group (P<0.05).The NLR and Lp-PLA2 levels in the T2DM and CAD group were higher than in the control group (P<0.01).Logistic regression analysis hinted that NLR and Lp-PLA2 were the risk factors for CAD in T2DM patients (P<0.01).Conclusion NLR and Lp-PLA2 may be valuable predictive factors for CAD in T2DM patients.
