Abstract:Objective To evaluate the clinical effects and safety of apatinib in advanced lung cancer patients after failure of second-line or beyond treatment. Methods Thirty-nine patients confirmed as lung cancer at stage Ⅲ~Ⅳ who failed in second-line or beyond treatment from April of 2015 to April of 2016 were collected. All patients were given oral apatinib (425 mg/d, 28 d for 1 courses).Clinical efficacy and adverse reactions were observed. Results The median PFS of all patients was 3.5 months.Median OS was 5.1 months.CR was 0% (0/39), PR was 15.4% (6/39), SD was 51.3% (20/39), and PD was 33.3% (13/39).ORR and DCR were 15.4% and 66.7%, respectively. The main adverse reactions were hypertension (35.9%), proteinuria (25.6%), hand-foot syndrome (25.6%), diarrhea (20.5%) and bone marrow suppression (38.5%).All of these side effects were relieved after positive treatment. Conclusion Apatinib exhibits objective efficacy in advanced lung cancer patients after failure of second-line or beyond treatment with manageable toxicity.
