Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of orthodontic force on the rebuilding of periodontitis tissue of parodontopathy rats. Methods Thirty Wistar rats were randomly divided into control group A (control group) and experimental group B, 15 cases in each group.Orthodontic force (50 g) was loaded on the bilateral maxillary first molar and the orthodontic tooth. The rats were executed after adding the forces for 1, 3, 7, 14, 21 d respectively. Then the movement distances of orthodontic tooth were recorded. The change of periodontal ligament, alveolar bone, osteoclasts of bilateral maxiallary first molars by HE stain were observed. Results The speed of orthodontic tooth movement of group B was faster than group A, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).HE staining showed that there was active remodeling of periodontal tissue with occurrence of new osteoblasts in the tension side in group A.There was severe resorption of alveolar bone and a large number of osteoclast, new cementoblast in the tension side of root surface in group B.Conclusion It was apparent that orthodontic therapy of periodontitis could not aggravate the destruction of alveolar bone.
