The effect of comfort care on the pain during dressing change in patients with moderate burn

Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of comfort care on the pain during dressing change in patients with moderate burn.Methods Fifty patients with moderate burn were randomly divided into observation group and control group in the First People's Hospital of Shangqiu City from March of 2012 to June of 2013, 25 cases in each group.The observation group received comfort care, and the control group received routine nursing.The nursing effects of two groups were compared.Results The VAS score and heart rate were not significantly different between the two groups before dressing change (P>0.05).The VAS score and heart rate in the observation group were significantly lower than in the control group at the end of dressing change and 5 min later, and the differences were significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The effect of comfort care is significant in patients with moderate burn, which can reduce the pain during dressing change, stabilize the patient's heart rate, promote wound healing.
