Observation on the therapeutic effect of the Qianggu capsule combined with warm acupuncture on senile osteoporosis

Abstract：Objective To explore the therapeutic effect of the Qianggu capsule combined with warm acupuncture on senile osteoporosis.Methods Eighty cases of senile osteoporosis in accordance with the inclusion criteria were selected in the Zhengzhou Orthopaedic Hospital from July of 2014 to July of 2015, which were randomly divided into the Qianggu group and control group, each with 40 cases.after the end of the study, excluding non compliance with the research requirements and shedding cases, a total of 75 cases were included, 37 cases were in the Qianggu group and 38 cases in the control group.The patients in control group received Caltrate treatment, the patients in Qianggu group received Qianggu capsule plus warming acupuncture combination therapy on the basis of Caltrate.Both two groups were treated for 6 months.Wards triangle area, femoral neck, three large rotor bone density changes and low back pain relief were observed before and after treatment in two groups.Results Bone mineral density had different degrees before and after treatment in two groups, but the difference was statistically significant in the Qianggu group(P<0.05), and the difference was not statistically significant in the control group (P>0.05).The bone mineral density of Qianggu group was better than that of the control group after treatment(P<0.05).The effect on the Qianggu group was obviously superior to the control group(P<0.05).No serious adverse reactions were found in the clinical study of this subject.Conclusion The Qianggu capsule combined with warm acupuncture can improve the bone mineral density, and obviously improve the symptoms of low back pain in elderly patients with osteoporosis.The effect is obvious and safety.
