Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship of testicular artery and spermatic vein blood flow velocity with the semen quality. Methods Sixty one cases of left varicocele (VC) patients were setted as VC group, and 67 cases of volunteers without varicocele were setted as control group. The testicular artery bloodstream, spermatic vein bloodstream, scrotum temperature and semen quality of two groups were compared. The VC group was given operation of the varicocele under microscope, scrotum temperature and semen quality were compared between preoperative and three months after the operation. Results The testicular artery bloodstream had no statistically significant differences between the two groups (P>0.05).The spermatic vein bloodstream of VC group was obviously lower than the control group, the scrotum temperature of was lower than the control group, the semen quality was lower than the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The semen quality of three months after the operation was higher than preoperation, the scrotum temperature was lower than preoperation, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The spermatic vein bloodstream of VC patients is slow, the phenomenon may be one of the reasons for testicular temperature increased, thus resulting in the decline of the semen quality and male infertility. The spermatic vein bloodstream of VC patients with slow speed is one of the causes of male infertility.
