The study on psychological survey of anxiety and depression in artificial insemination female patients

Abstract:Objective To investigate the demographic characteristics,anxiety,depression,social support and infertility stigma in the artificial insemination with husband’s sperm (AIH)women.Methods 175 AIH women completed a questionnaire consisted of self-rating anxiety scale (SAS),self-rating depression scale (SDS),social support rating scale(SSRS)and the infertility stigma scale(ISC).Results The scores of anxiety and depression in AIH women [(44.63 ±5.13)and (55.36 ± 10.34)]were higher than normal level (P<0.05).This study showed a negative linear correlation between anxiety and social support of AIH women (r=-0.224,P<0.05).Different level of household income groups in AIH women has associated with anxiety (F=6.055,P=0.015).Conclusions The scores of anxiety/depression in AIH women are higher than normal level.The higher social support system could effectively decrease the level of anxiety and depression in AIH women.The lower household income could increase the level of anxiety in AIH women.
