The application value of detection of PCT in the diagnosis of neonatal sepsis

Abstract：Objective To explore the application value of PCT in neonatal sepsis.Methods 42 cases of inpatients diagnosed as neonatal sepsis in PICU department of Puyang Maternal and Child Health-Care Hospital from August of 2014 to August of 2016 were selected as the study group,and 46 healthy newborns were selected as the control group in the same period.PCT, CRP concentrations and white blood cell count and other related tests were done simultaneously,and the results of the two groups were compared.Results PCT value and positive rate of the study group was significantly higher than that of the control group, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0. 05 ).Conclusion Quantitative detection of serum PCT has important values in the diagnosis of neonatal sepsis.
