The effect of Yupingfeng granules on immunologic function of childhood primary nephrotic syndrome

Abstract：Objective To study the effect of Yupingfeng granules on immunologic function of childhood primary nephrotic syndrome.Methods Patients who were first admitted and diagnosed as childhood primary nephrotic syndrome (n=60 )were randomized into Yupingfeng group and control group,30 case in each group.The patients of Yupingfeng group were treated with Yupingfeng granules plus glucocorticoid.The patients of control group were only treated with glucocorticoid.The two groups were compared for incidence of infection,replase rate,dosage of glucocorticoid,influence of T cell lymphocyte subpopulation,level of serum IgG,IgA,IgM and alexin C3,C4 .Results The Yupingfeng group had significantly lower incidence of infection,replase rate and daily dose of glucocorticoid (at month 4)than the control group (P<0. 05).The Yupingfeng group had significantly higher levels of T cell CD3 +,CD 4 +,CD 8 +and CD 4 +/CD 8 +than the levels of prior treatment (P<0.01),and had signifi-cantly higher level than the level of post treatment of the control group (P<0. 05 ).The Yupingfeng group had significantly high-er levels of IgG,IgA,IgMand alexin C3,C4 than the control group (P<0. 05).Conclusion Yupingfeng granules treatment can improve the immune state of childhood primary nephrotic syndrome,control incidence of infection,replase rate and reduce daily dose of glucocorticoid.It has a favourable safety and worth to be popularized.
