Abstract:Objective To analyze the Clinical effects of laparoscopic surgery in patients with large adrenal tumor. Methods 40 large adrenal tumor patients with the tumor diameter > 6 cm treated with laparoscopic surgery were selected, and the clinical manifestations, surgery - related information and pathological results were retrospectively analyzed. Results There were 38 pa-tients with clinical symptoms out of the 40 patients while 2 cases were asymptomatic tumor. Operations were performed successful-ly with laparoscopic surgery, including 1 case transiting open surgery. Average tumor size was(7. 7 ± 2. 0)cm. The average op-eration time was(16. 7 ± 13. 7)min and haemorrhagia amount was(33. 5 ± 133. 7)ml with intraoperative blood transfusion in 1 patients. The average hospital stay was(19. 8 ± 3. 0)d,and the postoperative hospital stay was(7. 0 ± 2. 0)d. The pathologi-cal diagnosis confirmed 30 cases of pheochromocytoma,6 cases of adrenal cortical carcinoma,2 cases of adrenal hyperplasia,1 cases of medullary lipoma tumor,1 cases of adrenal cyst. Conclusion Most of the large adrenal tumors have clinical symptoms. The operation can successfully be done by laparoscopy, generally do not need blood transfusion. The most common pathological types were pheochromocytoma and adrenal cortex carcinoma.
